Bodhidharma Day – Sunday, Oct. 8

Posted on Sep 27, 2017

In many Zen places in this country and other lands, early October is the time to focus on Bodhidharma, the great Dharma Ancestor known as the founder of our Zen school. According to tradition, this is the time of the 5th or 6th century master’s death– an event considered to be highly significant in Asia (far more so than birthdays).

So please join us this Sunday, Oct. 8, for our 9:30-11:30 program, when we too will zero in on this colorful and mysterious Brahmin prince-turned-Zen patriarch by highlighting some of the stories and teachings connected with him.  As usual, we’ll gather afterward for a vegetarian potluck: food offerings appreciated, of course, but never mandatory.
