Thursday, May 25 from 7:00-8:30 PM
Are you interested in the connection between Zen, meditation, medicine, and the healing process? Would you like to learn more about osteopathy -- which is, "a branch of medical practice that emphasizes the treatment of medical disorders through the manipulation and massage of the bones, joints, and muscles?" Please join us for a special evening with our Dharma sister, Dr. Leslie Dai Gan Ching, as she shares with us her research and experience with her recent Buddhist chaplaincy program. Originally from the Big Island of Hawaii, Leslie was a member of Windhorse Zen Community and now splits her time between her medical practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mountain Gate-Sanmonji in New Mexico. We are honored that during her visit to Asheville that she'll be sharing her journey with the community.
This evening will be held in-person, as well as on Zoom. We'll begin with zazen, followed by a talk from Leslie. Then, there will be an opportunity for questions and answers from the community. For those who attend in-person, we'll be offering tea and vegan cookies after the event.
